Guest Speaker(s):
Sonja Weissenbacher, CPA, FE A™, COC, ACC; Will Hughes, MS-Clinical Counseling; Laura Jennings, M.Ed.
Host:

Neurodiversity is a natural expression of human difference, present in every family, enterprise, and advisory relationship. As complexity increases, cultivating environments that foster strengths-based inclusion and embrace neuroaffirmative principles helps reduce the stigma and shame historically associated with neurodivergent identities.

This shift moves families and enterprises away from deficit-based thinking and toward
acceptance, dignity, and possibility; recognizing that neurodivergent minds often contribute creativity, innovation, pattern recognition, and entrepreneurial drive.

This webinar introduces current neurodiversity language, common neurodivergent attributes, and inclusive engagement practices relevant to multi-generational family and enterprise systems. Participants will explore strengths-based approaches that enhance psychological safety, reduce barriers and misinterpretation, and support effective communication and decision-making across diverse ways of thinking.

Introduction to our Guest Speaker(s)

Sonja Weissenbacher is a CPA, Family Enterprise Advisor, organizational coach, and co-founder of Edendale Business Consultants, supporting business families and owner-led enterprises through generational transitions in leadership and ownership.
Her work centers on moments of meaningful change; when leadership, identity, relationships, and governance converge, and when flourishing requires not just sound decisions, but care, understanding, and deeply human connection.
Grounded in both professional training and lived experience as an engaged member of an enterprising family, Sonja works alongside founders, next-generation leaders, boards, and executive teams to support succession, leadership development, governance, and long-term stewardship. As an independent advisor, she creates space for the conversations that are often hardest to have; helping families and leadership teams build trust, clarity, and shared purpose.
Sonja’s approach is systems-based, human-centred, and neurodiversity-informed. She pays close attention to different thinking styles, emotional experiences, and family roles, and to how these differences shape communication, power dynamics, and collaboration; especially during times of uncertainty or change. Her work emphasizes strengths, patterns, and relational dynamics within complex systems; cultivating wisdom, empathy, discernment, and the capacity to stay connected through ambiguity while sustaining wellbeing across generations.

Will Hughes is a Resource Director and Discovery Experience Guide with Family Tapestry, LLC, an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families cultivate self-awareness to deepen understanding and strengthen connections within and across generations. He also maintains an independent mental health practice focused on adolescents and young adults experiencing ADHD,ASD, anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses.

Will’s clinical counseling approach frequently incorporates nature-based experiences, such as mushroom foraging, fishing, hiking, and bird-call identification—to enhance skills training and symptom management. These experiential practices support regulation, curiosity, and embodied learning, particularly for neurodivergent clients. He completed additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Drug Screen Analysis and Intoxication Detection, Emergency Response and Duty-To-Warn Law Compliance, Multicultural Counseling Competency, Family Systems Analysis, Equine Therapy for Neurodiverse Individuals, in addition to Drumming, Play, and Wilderness Therapy.

When serving as a guide for Family Tapestry’s Discovery Experience, Will helps clients leverage deeper self-understanding to approach differences within themselves and others from a posture of curiosity rather than judgment. His work is informed by more than a decade of experience guiding and mentoring individuals toward greater self-awareness and self-actualization.
